Harrison & Hussey housed
I’ve finally finished restoring the case. Sadly the original case was sold without the gun. Anyway, I’ve done a bit of research and used red internally, as did Harrison & Hussey as far as I can tell. The trade label is mine, again after research copied. I think it looks quite good, I’ve tea-bag aged it and it looks really nice in the case. I’ve really enjoyed this restoration project and I’m looking forward to the next one. Thanks to Matt at Francis Lovel for the gun, advice and general great customer service. Thanks to Roger Hance for a fascinating chin wag every time I see him and help with the checkering and other fiddly bits!

Tony,
Beautyful!!!
I hope my J. P. Sauer & Sonn turns out as well.

Tony,
This is a very nice gun that would respond well to your colour case hardening treatment,I find that with the guns that are heavily engraved, the “expensive” engraving becomes lost in the colours. This sparsely engraved gun would not have that problem.(have to make sure those lock plates were well blocked though).
Chris,
France.
Hi Chris, sold it. Wish I hadn’t it was lovely! Just in the process of getting (hopefully) a Stephen Grant but I won’t risk it with CCH just too valuable potentially..

Cheers Tony–
Glad you bought the Lancaster and passed on the ‘sleeved’ Stephen Grant………Why did you sell the beautiful Harrison & Hussey, wow…?…Appears to be a very nice gun, truly a keeper IMO….?….
Best,
Doug–
Well….I loved it but someone offered my a lot of money for it so I thought that would fund my next few restoration projects which it did. You are right though LOVELY…and rare…
