W.W Greener Project
I happened upon this lovely hammer gun earlier in the new year and took a punt. It was not proofed and I had to pay for it up front and then get it proofed. I was ecstatic when I had the call to say it had passed the proof test with flying colours! Just this past weekend a friend of mine picked up the gun. I’ve been taken ill recently with cancer and I’m now in recovery after a serious but life saving operation. My point here is that I need to rest as much as I can but also find something that isn’t work and therapeutic. Enter the Greener. Anyway, it’s a circa 1860-1870 Greener back lock hammer and it’s a beautiful gun. The barrels are original and are in just amazing condition for its age, the walls are so thick that I’m not sure many rounds have been fired through it at all! This gun will also bring my first attempt at browning Damascus barrels and I’m looking forward to that part of the project. Here are some photos of the gun.
