Hammers, Backlock plates and trigger plate – CCH Part 2
With the parts in then canister it was time to heat up the kiln. I’ve programmed it to 1 hour and 15 minutes this time. I was intrigued to see how the parts that we connected to the square backing plate would perform. As it turned out they were fantastic…watch the video and see the results. After this quenching it was decided I should be banashed to one of the barns on the farm…Hmmm…as you can see from the slowmo…there was quite an explosive result to this one and my friend was hit by a bit of hot charcoal…he’s absolutely fine…I’d of course be doing his job if it wasn’t for the problem with my leg…or rather lack of it…

Looks pretty good there Tony………notice the hammers where attached to the 4 mm plate, the colors are more outstanding….this is why I always attach small parts to fixtures/plates…..and receivers as much of a solid unit as possible, really enhances the colours…….
Good job, saw you jump there….!
Keep it up Mate…
Best,
Doug
Hey Doug thanks, yes, it makes a real differnece attaching the parts to a plate/sink of some sort. Great tip.

Try the horse clippings or for more volume hoofs if you know of a ‘slaughter’ house for cattle near by…..either are good….color enhancer…you will like the results I think……..

Tony:
Looking over the video, the flame was the result of oxygen entering when you opened the slide door too far out….what do you think…?….

Yep I reckon you are right Doug! It didnt do this the first time. It’s partly my fault with the angle I put Tony at to place the crucible.

Tony,
The Video seems to have vanished! I cant find it anywhere on the site.
Chris,
France.
Videos back Chris, wish I’d never upgraded to the latest version of WordPress…another two hours wasted that could have been sitting in front of guns
Tony ,
Really great to see the video back! Great music as well!I sometimes wonder if all the electronic goodies we play with cost us more time than they save us!(but then I had never even switched a computer on untill this year).
Chris,

Facinating stuff here Tony. I am a recent convert (5 years) to these old gems. I have not yet tried to do much work myself but find myself very interested in learning the processes. Your videos are great (one pic – 100O words….). BTW, is that Chris Rhea on the soundtrack for the quench video. Always liked his stuff and a close friend became his neighbor a number of years ago
Hi James, thanks for the comments. Yep Chris Rea “Hard Shoulder” I think.
