I haven’t really had much time recently but I did manage this week to get the stock finished on the Gibbs. There is a lovely piece of wood under there and it’s now off this weekend to my checkering man to get that re-cut. I hope you agree it’s a nice piece of wood!

I’ve been refinishing the stocks for both of these sidelocks. Coming along nicely. I’m trying a new format of 6-7 coats of London gunstock finish, first slurried, then finishing with 10 coats of very fine french polish…the last phase will be to dull them down for a fab satin finish.
