Tony,
This one looks like it has seen some hard use,a perfect candidate for working your magic on! I think you will see that stock blank as a very modern restocking when it is finished, but anything would be better than the "floorboard it is stocked with now! I cant believe that Purdey would have used such a plank! I am sure that once it has had your CC hardening it will look a different gun,one thing for sure,it cannot look worse !!!
Good Luck,
Chris,
France.

Tony,
That is a very nice gun! I had one almost identical in 4 Bore by Westley Richards, even the trigger guard "pineapple" engraving was the same,it could well be that Westley Richards made this for a retailer. What bore is it? I like the dolphin hammer!

Tony, never seen anything like this before but it looks lovely, especially the barrel. Look forward to seeing it complete.

Tony

Wonderful choice in the stock blank. Understated elegance that will compliment the whole gun when finished.

Regards, Gordon

Tony,
Very many thanks for this "inside" view of the BPH. A very interesting photo shoot, especially as you must have been feeling less than well at the time. The whole place looks like it could be given some of the TLC that your restorations recieve!Given the reluctance to spend any money,I doubt that that is going to happen!
Hope you feel a bit better very soon!!!

Hello Tony,
The Purdy drops into the case like it always lived there!! What a super piece of Walnut it is stocked with, fabulous!! All it needs now is for the case to stand in the sun for a while to take the newness off the beize. A real eye catcher.
Regards,
Chris,

Hello Tony,
Well, you have done it again! This one has come back from being a clunker,to a gem.The whole restoration looks very nice, did you fill the very tastfull engraving with black? Or was there enough contrast there anyway? The stock has really responded very well to your treatment,it looks very good with the new extension.I think I will have to raise a glass of bubbly to this one!!!
